Believing in Self‑Worth & Never Giving Up on Dreams
Updated: Oct 4
There are moments in every creative journey when doubt gets loud. I’ve felt it myself — that nagging thought that there are so many musicians who are “better,” so many writers who seem to have more talent, more training, more time. It’s easy to wonder where my voice fits in all of that.
But here’s what I’ve learned: Music isn’t about being the best. It’s about being honest.
My story, my voice, my perspective — they’re not supposed to compete with anyone else’s. They’re supposed to stand on their own. Every song I write carries pieces of my life, my work, my experiences, my dreams that took the long way around. No one else can write those songs. No one else can tell my story.
And that’s the point.
I’m realizing that believing in my own worth isn’t optional — it’s essential. Dreams don’t disappear just because someone else is further ahead. They don’t expire. They don’t weaken. They wait. They grow quietly. They evolve.
Some dreams take time. Mine certainly have.
But time has given me depth. It’s given me perspective. It’s given me something to say.
So, I’m choosing to keep going — not because I’m trying to outplay anyone, but because my voice matters. My story matters. My music matters. And the only way those things come to life is if I keep showing up, keep writing, keep playing, and keep believing that the dream is still worth chasing.
This is the season where I stop comparing and start creating. The season where I trust the journey. The season where I honor the dream that never gave up on me.
